My name is Dani. I'm 27, newly single, bi/poly/switch from Providence, Rhode Island. Just looking to expand my circle of friends at the moment, and I'm having a bit of a time finding other poly folks to connect with.
I guess that's all for now.
Okay, don't think I'm completely crazy here, but:
What does it mean to be poly?
I'm not really asking for a firm definition - I'm pretty sure that doesn't really exist - but I ask because I genuinely want to know what it means to each individual to be poly. How they "do" poly, so to speak. And how do you handle a relationship wherein how each member "does" poly is different? Conflicts, even?
I think I'm basically asking this because communication is important to me, and I'm currently watching one relationship (a friend of mine and his primary) get REALLY WEIRD because the two of them seem to have vastly different visions of poly and they both seem to be fighting for their vision to win out. I really don't want that to happen to me.
SO, any thoughts?
